Hypnosis is a two-way process between therapist and client. During hypnosis the client is neither asleep nor unconscious but is awake and in control. The hypnotic state has been likened to a daydream, where your mind temporarily drifts from one thing to another, but with a higher state of awareness. Clinical Hypnotherapists use hypnosis as an intervention for medical purposes and an aid to the resolution of many psychological problems.
